If I saw the Winchesters in a diner, I’d be hauling ass out of there at the speed of sound lest I get caught in the cold open.

so my mom was telling one of her coworkers about my “unhealthy” obsession with Supernatural so they both spent like a solid week putting together all the music from each season for me

"I’m not sure that I like people who join the (VM) bandwagon because it becomes popular from the Kickstarter. I’ve been a loyal fan to Veronica Mars for a decade so seeing people liking it all a sudden doesn’t sit well with me."
I’d like to respond to this.
I found Veronica Mars post-Kickstarter. I heard about the Kickstart campaign through the news but didn’t think about it further because I didn’t know what (or who) Veronica Mars was so didn’t care. Then, a friend of mine mentioned that she watched the show and loved it and suggested I try it out as well. She knew the film was coming out in a month, and she knew I like TV shows with female protagonists, so pushed me towards it.
Yes, I’m a new to Veronica Mars. I did not watch it during it’s original airings because I didn’t know about it. Quite honestly, I watched it for Kristen Bell, who I loved in Frozen and subsequently researched. Veronica Mars did not disappoint in the slightest. If anything, it made me well and truly a Kristen Bell fan.
So yes. I’m a late-comer. A post-Kickstarter viewer. A bandwagon fan.
BUT: I am a consumer now. I am going to see the movie, in an actual cinema if I can pull it off. I’ll probably buy the Digital HD even if I do see the film in cinemas. And I will someday soon buy the series on DVD. I’ve already introduced two close friends to the series and they have both loved it. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the whole idea of TV and of a fandom: to spread the love of a show to others.
Does it matter how late someone comes to a show? I watched Buffy 14 years after it originally aired and Xena 10 or more years after it aired. Both of these shows are important to me, and Buffy remains one of my all-time favorite shows and characters. The same is now true for Veronica Mars. The character of Veronica is in my top five, perhaps even top three favorite TV show characters OF ALL TIME. She’s a role model to me. Who cares if I watched the show seven years after it originally aired? It’s as important to me as it is to you.
So call me a bandwagon fan. I am still a Marshmallow.
I want to know how “real” fans expect the franchise to be a success and, more importantly, continue if it doesn’t draw new fans. Clearly if the only fans that are allowed to be fans are ones that watched it while it aired, the movie likely wouldn’t have been made and there wouldn’t be a chance for more.

I really like being around him, you know? And I think he cares about me. But I just feel like something’s missing.

"… and even if I catch up to Bob we can’t do it alone. I thought that I couldn’t ask you to risk your life… but I can. I know what you would be risking it for, and it’s not just Glenn. I get that you’re afraid, but we can get there."
